Two factors come to mind: Time and Cost!
In 2022, many young couples are both working, some has already started families, looking to buy a home, and other factors that are already cause some stress factors. Planning a large wedding would only add on to their daily life obligations unless they have a wedding planner on call. In reality, how many couples have a wedding planner on call? How many couples can donate at least 15 percent a day of their own time to plan, prepare, and execute all needed for a wedding on their own? Let’s note, wedding planners have at assistant or two to help along the way as well. The more extravagant and larger the wedding; the more cost and detail oriented it is. In addition to the wedding planning there is the reception planning. More time and more cost to make sure everything is planned, prepared, and executed so a natural flow from one site to another is achieved. The more extravagant the wedding event is the longer it takes to complete all the preparations. Meaning, that one to two years is needed depending on style of wedding and its reception, the availability of vendors, the cost.
Cost of a wedding is 2022, have increased because the cost of inflation continues to rise dramatically. Many young couples are now thinking about the important factor, cost! Do they have the budget to have a certain type wedding? Do they want to spend that amount for one day event? What are they willing to give up have a large wedding? Many young couples are now thinking small is best. More and more weddings are becoming simple and sweet. Couples are looking for destination weddings to have a simple but meaningful ceremony between the two of them, and maybe a few close family and friends. That leaves more money to enjoy a honeymoon. After, many couples have stated when they go home, they will have a small party to celebrate with closes family and friends, nothing extravagant but meaningful. By eloping, the couple times is now focus on daily life and not so much of their time on wedding planning. Even more positive, the couple has more in their financial budget for other things they may need or want. The couple can do an elopement and honeymoon all in one if they so desire. To many couples believes this is all a win/win! However, elopements are not for all couples, and it should be discussed for what is best for you before leaping. Whatever your decision may be make sure it is the one that makes you the happiest and fits your personal budget, needs and wants.
